Millennium Manifesto

I came across this old document the other day and decided to post it here.  It was written in 1999, just before the turn of the 21st century. It is every bit as true today!  Maybe more so.

Hi, I’m Barb, and I’m a road rager (the crowd answers, “Hi Barb”).  Okay, full disclosure, I’m  an EXTREME road rager.  To the point that I considered starting a YouTube channel with videos of me driving.  Everyone who’s ridden with me agrees that would be very entertaining.  But it’s too late for that, as I am now a reformed road rager (unless I decide to do dramatic reenactments).  Here’s my story.

Stop Saying “I Didn’t Have a Choice”

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard someone say “I didn’t have a choice”.  It seems we love to use that as an excuse.  “I stayed at my crummy job for 20 years; I didn’t have a choice.”  “I gave the robber my wallet; I didn’t have a choice.”  “I became addicted to <insert addiction here>; I didn’t have a choice.”  But that’s a lie.  The truth is:  we ALWAYS have at least two choices; usually a lot more than two.
