Day 7 on Metabolism Miracle

One week down and 7 to go (in Step 1)!  I’m feeling pretty good.  I refuse to weigh until after Step 1 is complete, so no clue if I’ve lost any weight at all yet.  We’ll find out on December 26th!

My observations so far:

I’m sleeping better.  I used to wake up 3 or 4 times a night and drag myself out of bed in the morning.  Now I sleep through and wake up feeling good.

I’m not so achy all the time.  The overall feeling of getting old, like having trouble getting up off the couch, is almost completely gone.

I have more energy.  I can walk a little bit without needing to rest like I used to.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not ready for marathons, but I’m also not ready for bed when I get home.  A week ago I was tired all the time.

My thoughts are not racing.  This is unexpected.  I’ve had racing thoughts for as long as I can remember.  I often wake up and can’t go back to sleep until I get up and write down all the things bouncing around in my head.  I was an insomniac for years because of it.  I used to joke that my insomnia was causing my narcolepsy.  That seems to have stopped.  I’m still skeptical about that one, if only because I’ve lived with it for so long.

Not a single headache, even during the first 3 days.  I’m not really counting this one yet, since I have gone more than a week without one before.  We’ll see if it continues.

A co-worker told me it’s all in my head.  She said that’s the way I want to feel, so that’s the way I do feel.  Maybe so.  All I know is I like the way I’m feeling, and people are starting to notice.  This week 2 people asked me about my attitude change.  One of them even said “I want what you’re taking!  What’s your secret?”  So I told her!

Here’s what I said:  “You really want to know?  2 things:  I’m following The Metabolism Miracle; and I’m praying every morning for God to help me through the day.”

So far I’d say it’s working.  Even if I don’t lose a pound, it’s worth it for the way I feel.

  1. Always eat something within one hour of waking up, don’t let more than five hours pass without a meal or snack during the day, and end your evening with a snack right before you go to bed. When more than five hours pass without eating, your body automatically lowers its metabolic rate.
